Is Legacy Videos for You?

Some films are for saying goodbye.
Some are for saying what matters

We work with families at every stage — from those facing difficult diagnoses to those honouring a loved one who has passed.

Terminal Diagnosis

If you or a loved one has received a difficult diagnosis, we can help you capture what matters most — before time feels too short.

Reflecting on Life

Growing older brings wisdom worth sharing. Many clients use Legacy Videos to reflect on their journey and leave something meaningful for their children.

Personal Messages

A private message to a child, a spouse, a friend — words that are easier to say on camera than in person, and will be treasured forever.

Honouring Someone

For families who have lost a loved one — a tribute video that gathers voices and memories from everyone who couldn't be there.

Common Questions

Questions families ask us

It's completely normal to have questions before reaching out. Here are some of the most common ones.

How is this different from a funeral director's video?

A funeral director's video is typically a factual record of the service. Legacy Videos is something entirely different — it's a cinematic, emotionally crafted film about a person's life, stories, and the love they want to leave behind. We spend time with you, ask the right questions, and create something that will make your legacy a lasting one.

What if my parent has dementia or can't communicate clearly?

We've worked with many families in exactly this situation. We adapt our approach — using existing photos, home videos, voice recordings, and the accounts of family members to build a rich portrait. Even in difficult circumstances, there is almost always a meaningful way to create something beautiful. Every situation is different, and we'll be honest with you about what's possible.

Can family members who live overseas join the shoot?

Yes. We can arrange for remote participation via video call, and we can also film tributes separately in different cities and integrate them into the final film. Many of our Legacy Documentary clients have family in Canada, Australia, the UK, and the US — we've become very experienced at bringing dispersed families together into one film.

How long does the full process take?

It depends on the package. A Tribute can be completed in 2–3 weeks from shoot day. A Signature Farewell typically takes 4–6 weeks. A Legacy Documentary, given its scope, usually takes 8–12 weeks from the first planning session to final delivery. We'll give you a clear timeline at the start.

What if we need something urgently?

We understand that sometimes time is shorter than you'd hoped. Rush delivery is available as an add-on — please mention your timeline when you reach out and we'll do our best to accommodate you. For urgent cases, contact us directly and we'll find a way.

Can we see examples before we decide?

Every family's film is private by default — we respect that completely. That's why we only share teasers on our social media and site.

Do we need to have a funeral to commission a Legacy Video?

No. Many of our clients create a Legacy Video while they are still well — as a way of reflecting on their life and leaving something meaningful for their children and grandchildren. Others create one after a loved one has passed, to honour their memory. And others create one as part of a funeral or memorial service. All approaches are valid and common.
